About this Course :

The aim of this course is to give the students a comprehensive understanding and real life situation as starting point of learning on Planning, Design and Implementation of whole drinking water system and skills to design and in detail analyze the Water System.

  • BOQs and Cost Estimate

  • Hydraulic Modeling, Water System Design

  • The entire technical potable water system - from source to tap

  • Design guidelines and Demand estimation

  • Transmission Main, Pump Station & Pump Design and Hydraulics

  • Combine gained hydraulic knowledge when designing a new or redesigning an existing drinking water distribution network - including working pressure, reservoir volume and water demand

  • Analyze and design the drinking water network layout using hydrodynamic computer models using EPANET & QGIS

  • Most important concepts of the wastewater system, including the sewer collection system, treatment system and wastewater discharge. 

  • Different types of collection and treatment systems for wastewater and motivate the selection of different systems for different conditions.

  • Design guidelines and Demand estimation

  • Rising Main, Pump Station & Pump Design and Hydraulics

  • Combine knowledge in hydraulics and water processes when designing wastewater collection systems, including storm water storage, combined sewer overflow systems and sustainable urban drainage systems.

  • Wastewater network modeling and analysis using PCSWMM & QGIS
